This course is for those interested in keelboat sailing. The Basic Cruising course will explain seamanship and boat-handling skills required for sailboat cruising. The course teaches you to enjoy a day sail, safely and efficiently in moderate wind and sea conditions. This Sail Canada certification course is taught by a certified instructor and provides an internationally recognized certification. Whether your goal is learning or upgrading your skills, chartering a boat or becoming a boat owner, this course will get you heading in the right direction.
Courses run Monday & Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm for 4 Consecutive Weeks OR Saturday & Sunday 9am-4pm for 2 Consecutive Weekends. Maximum of 4 students per instructor. All courses include theory lessons, practical on water, exam, textbook and logbook
Option to add on a PCOC and or PVOP license in certain courses.

The Adult Learn to Sail follows the CANSail curriculum and is ideal for beginners. The courses use small and responsive boat that are exciting, but stable in teaching the fundamental skills of sailing. The course is taught by an experienced Sail Canada instructor. Course curriculum includes:
CANSail 1 – Introduction to sailing. CANSail 1 teaches sailors the fundamental sailing skills including basic sheeting, steering, and boat handling on all points of sail. Sailors can sail within defined boundaries set by an instructor
CANSail 2 – Basic sailing. CANSail 2 teaches sailors to adjust their bodies and boats for changes in direction and wind speed while sailing and to perform boat-handling skills in a controlled manner while in a controlled setting.
Courses run Tuesday AND Wednesday evenings from 6-9 pm for 4 Consecutive weeks

Courses Run Saturday AND Sunday all day from 9am to 4pm for 2 consecutive weekends.

We're back for another great season of Women's Sailing!
If you're new to the Women's Sailing program, this is a community of female sailors that strive for a friendly environment and encourage an active lifestyle on the island while enjoying the company of others for a low-stress experience. With a wide range of skill levels - from beginners to long-time racers/cruisers - our sailing instructors and occasional volunteers work with the participants to achieve their sailing goals.
Please note: This course is not solely focused on learning to sail or evaluation of CANSail levels, although it's a great way toto continue learning! Your instructors and other women in the program can help guide you on next steps or other sailing opportunities outside this group
Suggested Prerequisite: Adult Learn to sail.

Since 2012, the VX One has been the ultimate one design sportboat for top level sailors and families alike. With a focus on fun, friendly competition, the VX One is an affordable high performance platform that guarantees fun in all conditions. The VX One is a 2 to 3 person keelboat with a light, easily driven hull by an efficient sail plan set on a full carbon rig. The VX One family is like no other and we hope you will join us!
This is a one evening course for a quick sampling of VXOne sailing allowing participants to try before joining full course or purchasing their own boat.

This course will teach the more complex sailing skills and the some of the specifics to VXOne sailing. Prior sailing experience is recommended.

The VXOne is a powerful, high performance sport boat. Learn to Race these boats by joining the fleet for some race training each Monday.
This is an advanced course that will focus on racing skills, specifically on the VXOne. Participants will join a team for practice races learning various aspects of racing such as Starts, tactics, Teamwork and boat handling.Prior racing experience is recommended.
4 Week Program in June July or August
4 week - Mondays 6-9pm
The VXOne is a 2 to 3 person keelboat with a light, easily driven hull by an efficient sail plan set on a full carbon rig
This course is a women’s specific program that will focus on sailing skills and social interactions in the VXOne. You will join a female crew (subject to availability) to learn the finer details of VXOne sailing. Course material will vary based on participants skills and interests.
Completion of previous sailing course is recommended.
